North Capital Forum: 2023

The North Capital Forum took place in Mexico City from October 4th to 6th, 2023, following the success of its inaugural edition in 2022. This three-day event, hosted by the U.S.-Mexico Foundation, served as a platform for understanding and addressing North America's critical challenges while fostering collaborative solutions.

The NCF23 featured a significant gathering of influential figures from across the region and beyond. The forum's agenda included informative sessions, panel discussions, and one-on-one conversations. Prominent figures such as Eric Adams, the Mayor of New York City; Peter Zeihan, a distinguished geopolitical strategist; and Carla Hills, a recognized North American trailblazer and many other notable individuals, shared their valuable insights across over 50 panel discussions. The event also featured esteemed speakers, including Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alicia Bárcena Ibarra and Børge Brende, the President of the World Economic Forum, who contributed to the wealth of knowledge exchanged at the forum.

The breakout sessions delved into crucial topics such as diasporas in North America, supply chain resilience, educational exchanges, security, financial opportunities, and more. These sessions provided an opportunity for experts to exchange ideas and foster cooperation.

The Center for Binational Institutions, alongside the International Republican Institute, co-hosted a panel titled "Give a Little Bit: Institutions for Effective Governance in North America." The panel emphasized the vital role of collaborative governance across different levels of government and explored methods for addressing new challenges and enhancing public engagement. The panel featured Antonio Garrastazu as the Moderator from the International Republican Institute, Governor María Eugenia Campos Galván of Chihuahua, Guillermo Garcia Sanchez from Texas A&M University School of Law, and Shauna Hemingway from the Embassy of Canada.

The event included two nights of dinners: the CEO's Dinners and the Governmental Dinners, which provided further opportunities for networking and collaboration.

In summary, the North Capital Forum served as an influential platform for fostering collaboration, sharing insights, and addressing the pressing challenges of North America, ultimately advancing the region's progress and unity.
